108: Back to Square One

In this regular episode, Jamon and Q catch up on lots of big news in the world of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family. They discuss museum exhibitions at the Smithsonian and in Finland, an updated edition of Joe Vogel’s Man in the Music, Raymone Bain’s much-hyped press conference, new videos from Michael Trapson, and great new music from TJ Jackson. For their main topic, they discuss three (yes, three!) new Michael Jackson documentaries: Chase the Truth, The Lies of Leaving Neverland, and Square One. Plus, special guest Danny Wu, YouTuber and creator of Square One, joins the guys for a chat about his film.

093: Season Four Christmas Special

It’s the time of year for cookies and carols and ornaments on the tree…and The MJCast’s annual Christmas Special!

Jamon, Q, and Elise wrap up Season Four with discussion of developments in the world of Michael Jackson, including John Cameron’s terrific Musicology podcast, the “On the Wall” exhibition moving to Paris, Janet Jackson’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Jonathan “Sugarfoot” Moffett’s health scare, and the inspiring results of a music scholarship which Michael Jackson established in 1984. The MJCast Correspondents also chime in, with news on the Cascio Case, MCFFC charity efforts, and the Jackson family.

It’s been a whirlwind year, full of great discussion, lots of Jackson news, and illuminating conversations with amazing guests. The team reflects on the past year, highlights favorite clips from this season’s Special episodes, and also looks to the year to come, as The MJCast continues to grow.

085: For all the YANA Lovers Out There?

After hosting four (epic!) back-to-back special episodes, Jamon takes a well-deserved break, handing the reins over to Q, Elise, and Damien Shields, who catch up on more than a month’s worth of MJ and Jackson Family news. They revisit The MJCast’s recent interview with Judith Hill, and look ahead to events planned for MJ’s birthday on August 29th, including a screening of Moonwalker at the British Film Institute, as well as developments around the Estate’s ‘Diamond Celebration’, which include partnering with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and the release of a vinyl anthology box set.

In other news, Michael has been making appearances on tracks by major recording artists, including Christina Aguilera’s ‘Maria’, and Drake’s ‘Don’t Matter To Me’, which has earned Michael Jackson his 30th Hot 100 Top 10 Billboard hit. Plus, developments are in the works for a Broadway show based around Michael’s music, and Omer Bhatti reveals the long-rumoured original golden Invincible album cover artwork. In Jackson family news, Janet continues her big year by receiving the first ever Impact Award at Radio Disney Music Awards, and reports are circulating that she is collaborating with Bruno Mars, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on her new album. 075: I’m a Strange Guy

Welcome to Season Four of The MJCast! After a long (but much-needed!) winter break, hosts Jamon and Q are excited to be back to discuss everything that’s been happening in the world of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family, and to look ahead to the year to come. The guys kick things off by discussing Paramount Network’s Lip Sync Battle: Michael Jackson Celebration, Paris Jackson’s ‘soundtrack to her life’, and the Kickstarter campaign for the Moonwalkers documentary, which explores the world of MJ tribute artists. And, looking ahead to events happening in 2018, British fans can check out the London Portrait Gallery’s ‘On the Wall’ exhibition, while fans around the world can see The Jacksons, who have announced new concert dates, and 3T, who will be attending the 5th Annual MJ Day in Paris on August 29th, as well as performing on September 1st. Plus, Janet Jackson will perform alongside MJ luminary Teddy Riley at the Essence Festival happening this July. To round this segment of the show out, Q offers a touching reflection on the late MJ fan, Mustafa.

As they launch this new season, Jamon and Q also have some exciting announcements. Going forward, the team is expanding with correspondents, several of whom you’ve heard on previous episodes. They will be the official reporters on particular aspects of MJ news, history, and the fan community, and will be involved in episodes regularly. Two featured correspondents on this episode include Steven Hodges of Michael Jackson Fans For Charity (MJFFC) and Janneke van der Linden of Jackson Source. And, the team is pleased to announce that Elise Capron has joined The MJCast as Web Assistant.
