Filmmakers Adam Green, Marcos Cabota, Jin Chohan, and Paul Black join host Charlie Thomson for a continuation of The MJCast’s “Michael” biopic deep-dive discussion series, this time focused on the perspective from those in the film industry. They hone in on details around editing and scene selection, and considerations (from a top-down view) about audience, approach, and production, as well as discussing whether the film truly humanizes Michael Jackson, and what a sequel – if it happens – might look like. Ultimately, the team casts new light on how to think about the film, combined with their personal insights as long-time mega fans of the King of Pop.

I do agree with comments made here but I don’t think Michael should be known or seen as an 80’s megastar only. If he wasn’t as big in the 90’s he wasn’t far off. The Black or White video alone was a global event and the Dangerous sold around the same units as Bad. Michael was a huge star in the 90’s too especially when you think the History earned more money than the Bad tour. I know you have to adjust for inflation but he did a lot less concerns with History than he did with Bad. Both Dangerous and History were huge as were the video’s. Yes it’s a shame the allegations clouded him but that doesn’t mean his music contribution suffered. Yes he did lip sync tours with Dangerous and History but a lot of artists were doing that for all kinds of reasons.
