So, TRIUMPH album. I think it’s like an early Dangerous: Michael had learnt a lot from Quincy Jones with Off the Wall and could not wait to experience and create freely with that new knowledge, without a Quincy putting limits. Triumph is like a hybrid album:
– Michael has grown massively and developed from working with Quincy
– Michael is still free, spontaneous and fresh
No wonder he could not wait to free himself from Quincy Jones after having a taste with Triumph.
About the Prince estate, I love how Charles gives his point of view, with “Casey said”, you can picture him going down a list of bullet pointed notes he’s been taking on a physical notepad 😁
